”I had the great fortune to get my hands on a great assignment for my masters thesis. Find a way to use the best little radio transmitter there is to work as a radio beacon to find people in trouble. Something I feel strongly about. I know from sailing ships in harsh weather on rough seas the first and most prominent feeling when it gets dangerous is: I’m on my own, I have to get me out of this, no one else will fix this for me. I imagine that people caught in avalanches, lost in remote areas or trapped in burning houses recognize that feeling. But when we’re in trouble there are people that are looking for us, there are people who do everything they can to save us.
